Fifty days, thirteen countries and one controlled avalanche later, the Land Rover team has completed the journey with nary a mechanical hiccup. The convoy of Discos, which included the historic one millionth unit, conquered a wide variety of trying terrain and passed through the historic cities of Milan, Saltsburg, Vienna and Budapest. They and even became the first private vehicles to enter Chernobyl since the nuclear disaster 25 years ago before arriving in China in time for the Beijing Motor Show.
While Land Rover has completed the arduous physical component of the journey, the company is still trying to reach its philanthropic goal for the trip: raising $1.6 million towards the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies' water sanitation project in Uganda.
Those in a charitable mood can jump over to the Land Rover site to make a donation towards the goal.
