A 1990 Lexus LS400 driven by Microsoft cofounder Bill Gates from 1990-1995 is up for sale on eBay. Today, Bill Gates is the richest man in world with a Net Worth of $46.5 billion. This vehicle was driven by Gates during his rise to world prominence and the development and release of his famed Windows 95 operating system. Gates donated this car to the Pacific Crest Outward Bound School in Portland, Oregon after driving the car for 5 years. The school sold the car to the head of a thriving dot com company in the Philadelphia area in 1998. After the dot com boom subsided, the company went bankrupt and the car was sold to its current owner in October 2002 as the company’s assets were being liquidated. The car stayed in the Philadelphia area and is now used by its third driving owner.

Wow… could this individual be anymore of a raging Bill Gates fanyboy? I mean, the part where he ponders whether or not the brown hair found in the back seat was a litle much, as was the entire description of what is arguably a nice, but not particularly exciting car.
I can understand getting excited about celebrity car memorabilia to a certain extent (especially if it’s a nice car – for example Tim Allen’s Carerra GT) but a used Lexus? Does anyone else share my feeling of “Who cares if Bill Gate owned this?” Next thing we’ll have Steve Jobs 1980 Honda Accord up for auction…
