Ford used the Thailand International Motor Expo in Bangkok to unveil a new pickup concept dubbed 4-Trac. The truck aims to stay true to the "˜Built Ford Tough' promise while also offering a degree of sophistication. One of the most noteworthy design features is the "tailgate within a tailgate," which inner and outer sections operating together or independently: the outer body-color section folds down to the ground, acting as a ramp; the inner aluminum section folds 90 degrees for ease of loading and unloading. Some observes believe the 4-Trac is the basis for the forthcoming 2007 Sport Trac, while others feel it's the basis for the next Ranger. Yesterday, we noted that Ford was working on a replacement to the Explorer Sport Trac pickup.
