BMW 120 Si the "spiritual successor" to E30 M3?

U.K. car magazine AutoCar had a recent special on the forthcoming BMW 120 Si coupe. The magazine, where refers to the car as a "baby M3," claims it has "official pictures" of the new 1-series coupe. We're not entirely convinced these images are real, but it's a safe bet they are based on real information. Unlike the BMW 1-series hatchback, the 1-series coupe (and subsequent convertible) will come to the United States and Canada, according to the company (see our recent report). The magazine report focuses on the 120 Si, which will reportedly be an sport-tuned version of the coupe and a "spiritual successor" to the E30 M3 (1986-1991).
