Could this be the new BMW 3-Series coupe?

There have been a lot of high-profile leaks in the automotive world these last few days. The 2008 Dodge Challenger, the Volvo C30, the possible end of TDI in the U.S., and the Pontiac Solstice GXP specs, to name a few. Over the past week, BMW fans have hotly debated an image published in an Italian auto magazine purportedly of the next-generation BMW 3-Series coupe (E92) (shown right - click to enlarge). While observers remain divided on the image's authenticity, one cannot deny the striking similarity it has to recent spy shots and renderings of the coupe. Leftlane has also heard rumors that an E92 coupé was recently in Milano at BMW Italy, and may have been seen by insiders or spies. While we're not ready to say the image shown in this magazine is the real deal, it is by far the most authentic looking undisguised image of the car to date. It also matches all recent renderings and spy shots exactly. There are a few strange visual anomalies in the photo, which could be due to either doctoring or retouching. On Friday, we reported that the next-generation BMW M3 would get a body style drastically different to that of the standard E92 3-series coupe.
