2006 to be record year for Lamborghini

08/05/2006, 1:44 PM

By admin

Lamborghini closed the first half of 2006 with a 45 percent sales increase, the automaker said this week. Sales went from 655 to 952 units, when compared with the same time period in 2005. Strong sales of the Gallardo Spyder were cited as on major booster, in addition for increased demand for other models. The Murciélago LP640 is selling well, with a waiting list now standing at 12 months. The automaker says it expects to set a sales record this year, in addition to a 68 percent increase in U.S. sales alone. American sales in the first half were 422 units — up from 251.

Yes… I remember the Countach well! Just loved that wide, low look. Nothing else on the road looked even remotely similar.

Nowadays, there are a lot of similar looking supercars.

As much as I love the Viper and all, I still admire Lambo. and all that they have done, it’s all Lambo. now, since Ferrari has gone nowhere but downhill since the F50.

The Swede,

Come over to Southern California (Irvine, Newport Beach, etc…) and you will see Lamborghinis every day. 3 of my neighbors have Murcielagos, and 7 have Gallados, not to mention that there are plenty of Diablos around, also you will find Carrera GT, SLRs, and couple of Enzos here too.

Wow Reza, you’re cool…

ANYWAYS…

I’m glad to see Lamborghini making a good profit, they’ve had some ridiculously troubled history in the past, i.e. Chrysler ownership, etc. Lamborghini is my favorite car brand, the Murcielago/Murcielago LP640 are my favorite cars of alll time, and the Gallardo is an amazing car for the money, yes, i’ll say it, without joking..”down you go ferrari”. and lamborghini isn’t losing its exclusivity factor, think about on average, how many ferrari’s you see compared to the number of lambos, you see wayyyy more ferrari’s (especially 360’s) because they make so many models and produce so many more cars, hence lambo is far more exclusive.

I’m also glad that Lamborghini is making profit. It’s a good thing. While Ford and GM are loosing big time sales EVEN Lamborghini is gaining.
No Lamborghini isn’t loosing it’s “exclusive factor”. There were many more Ferraris produced, the difference being that Ferrari creates a few low(er) production models. But overall there are many more Ferraris than Lambos out there.
It’s good to see it making profit Lamborghini has always had it’s own image, not being influenced by other car designs.

i have a lambo and i live in huntington bch. The car drives like a beauty and it is far from losing its prestige image. Yes, more people possess ferraris and lambos here, but it just fits the lifestyle of people in the city. For the people that are “hatin,” its hard earned cash. I went to school for about 6 years after graduating from ucla.

Hey ANTI-BUSH. Get a damn job and stop asking for hand-outs. What kind of people do you think keep charities and nonprofit organizations afloat? Rich people. Look at Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, John Huntsman, etc.. Why the hell are you on a “car afficionado” website? This is a for profit industry. The industry revolves around spending and making money…lots of it.
