GM to build hybrid Cadillac Escalade

General Motors CEO Rick Wagoner told reporters at the company's Baltimore transmission plant that his company plans to have a hybrid version of the 2007 Cadillac Escalade ready for the 2008 model year. Automotive News says the truck could get a 25 percent gain in fuel economy, meaning the vehicle could get close to 30 mpg on the highway. GM also said it plans to use the Baltimore plant to build its recently-announced Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon hybrid drivetrains.
