Chrysler Imperial to arrive as 2011 model?

Chrysler's Dodge Challenger Concept was a smash hit at the Detroit auto show in January. But the reaction to the company's other show car, the Chrysler Imperial Concept, was considerably more mixed. Despite some criticisms, however, Chrysler is likely to build the Imperial, according to Edmunds. The report suggests the car will either use the Mercedes R-Class platform or the LX/LY underpinnings used for the 300C and its siblings. The report also indicates it will arrive in 2010 and a 2011 model. The Leftlane Perspective: We remain highly skeptical of this report -- especially of the proposed timeframe. Edmunds recently claimed the next Camaro would not see production until 2010, but virtually ever other news source has shot down this assertion, saying production is slated for 2009, or maybe even 2008.
