Cadillac to give Escalade, SRX the "V" treatment, minus the power

Cadillac plans to offer sport appearance packaged for the Cadillac SRX and Escalade that will add a number of V-Series design cues. However, the kits will be missing one thing: V-Series performance. According to a new report by Edmunds, Cadillac does not plan to create a true V-Series Escalade or SRX -- only an appearance kit. The report echos a recent Forbes story that indicated manufacturers like Mercedes and Cadillac would not build high performance-versions of their large SUVs. For example, Mercedes has no plans for an AMG version of the GL-Class, and Caddy isn't interested in building an Escalade-V. The reason in both cases is the trucks are simply too large.
