New club lets drivers exchange exotics
We've all heard about exotic car clubs that own expensive cars and allow members to drive them for a few days a year, but a new club is offering a different approach that could cost individuals who already own an expensive car nothing at all. Scott Speed's Squadra Piloti is a national club that connects local car enthusiasts with each other. For example, consider two members: Fred has a Ferrari F430 and would like to experience driving a Lamborghini Murcielago, among other cars; Larry, who lives nearby, has a Lamborghini Murcielago and would like to experience driving a Ferrari F430, among other cars. Squadra Piloti identifies Fred and Larry as a potential match and independently asks each about their car exchange preferences. Another possible scenario involves a cash exchange. Owners of underutilized exotics can essentially rent them out interest parties. Certainly an interesting idea for some of the high rollers out there...
