Rebodied Corvette up for auction (video, photos)

A rebodied Corvette build by a team of former Ford Engineers will be auctioned later this year, the group said. Called the "GDT Speedster," the car was built on the underpinnings of a 1994 C4 Corvette. It was built by a team of self-described car fanatics that "wanted to do a complete vehicle from scratch without the bureaucratic encumbrances of a large corporation." The projected was started by Gene Dickirson, thus the name GDT (Gene Dickirson Team). Dickirson said the team devoted a total of 13,127 hours to the project.
