Honda to unveil 2007 Civic hatchback this summer

Honda will unveil the 2007 Civic three-door hatchback this summer, according to a report by Automedia. The car was previewed in concept form as the 2007 Civic Type-R hatchback in February. Prototypes identical to the concept have been spotted in testing close to the German Nürburgring. The base production model is expected to debut at the British Motor Show in July, with sales starting this summer. It's not known if the car will be offered in the U.S. market. The base models will offer the same engine choices as the sedan. The Type-R, which will be in shown rooms next year, will be powered by a 200 horsepower 2.0-litre DOHC i-VTEC engine. 0-62 mph will be completed in about 6.5 seconds.
