40 Percent of U.S. market held by Asian automakers in May

A record forty percent of the U.S. auto market was held by Asian automakers in the month of May, according to a report in the latest New York Times. The newspaper said high gas prices sparked strong sales of the small cars like the Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic, and Hyundai Sonata. As noted yesterday, Toyota saw a 12.3 percent jump in sales, while Honda was up 16.6 percent.
