Ford recalls 1.2 million more trucks over fire risk

Ford announced the recall of 1.2 million trucks, sport utility vehicles and vans today amid concerns of potential engine fires. Last September, Ford recalled 3.8 million pickups over the same concern. Today’s recall involves vehicles fueled by gasoline or natural gas and equipped with cruise control, including the 1994-2002 F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 F-Super Duty trucks, 2000-2002 Excursion SUVs, 1994-1996 Econoline vans and 1996-2002 E-450 vans, and 1998 Explorers and Mountaineers. The fires have been attributed to faulty cruise control switches.

A kid at my school had his Ford truck catch on fire in the parking lot because of this; it burnt to a crisp. ;)

DaveO,
Obviously they didn’t test it, approve the design or do anything except slap it in the trucks and hope for the best. Bill Ford is just killing this great old company! Can’t he just buy a sports team and run that into the ground instead of wrecking the lives of so many people?
But great news for the new Chevy/GMCs.

Yeah Paul I am starting to agree with you there. Isn’t buying a sports team and running it into the ground the normal tradition that the sons and grandsons of truly grreat entrepanuers normally follow?
