Report: GM to announce production plans for Camaro

General Motors CEO Rick Wagoner will announce plans to build a production version of the Chevrolet Camaro Concept in a speech Thursday, the Detroit Free Press reported this weekend. The production car could arrive as early as calendar-year 2008, with three engine choices (one V6, and two V8s). Chrysler has already announced plans to put its Dodge Challenger Concept into production for calendar-year 2008. While the Challenger will likely be a low-production, V8-only model, the Camaro is expected to have the Mustang in its sights, with a sales target of over 100,000 units annually.
