Report: GMC to get 2009 minivan

General Motors' GMC division will get a minivan based on the Lambda platform for the 2009 model year, according to a report published today. The company -- which made a name for itself creating "professional grade" products for heavy-duty use -- has never sold a minivan in the past. According to Edmunds, the rumors originate from suppliers familiar with GM's product plans. GMC launched its first-ever crossover -- also on the Lambda platform -- in July. The 2007 GMC Acadia comes equipped with a 267 horsepower V6 engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and front- or all-wheel-drive.
