2007 Audi Q7 V12 TDI unveiled

Audi today unveiled the Q7 V12 TDI with an engine similar to the one featured in R10 Le Mans racing car. It produces 500 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque (1000 Nm). The crossover is capable of hitting 62 mph in 5.5 seconds, with a limited top speed of 155 mph. Maximum torque is available from just 1,750 rpm. The engine features the world's first 2,000 bar Bosch Common Rail system. Up to 2,000 bar of pressure is kept within the twelve piezo injectors - a further technological breakthrough. Unlike other Audi V-engines, this model features a special cylinder angle of 60 degrees. The twin-turbo V12 TDI conforms to the Euro 5 emissions class which should come into force in 2010. Fuel consumption is 20 mpg (11.9 liters per 100 kilometres). Gallery after the jump...
