Ford GT production ended

Production of the Ford GT supercar has ended. The last car was built late Thursday at the Wixom Assembly Plant, for a total run of 4,038 units. Ford announced it would be discontinuing the GT as part of its "Way Forward" plan earlier this year. The GT was first shown in concept form in 2002, and a production version was readied within 15 months. Power comes from a 550 horsepower V8, with a top speed in excess of 200 mph.
