Apex Motorsport previews Jaguar XKR GT3 race car

Apex Motorsport has released the first images of the recently announced Jaguar XKR GT3 race car. The development car is expected to complete its shakedown test in December before moving on to the official FIA tests early next year.

Team Manager Dave Ward expressed a great deal of confidence in the new XKR. “The basic all aluminium chassis is already immensely rigid so we’re confident that with the addition of the roll cage it will be amongst the best in class.”

Stuart Dyble, Jaguar Board Director and Vice President, Communications and Public Affairs, Premier Automotive Group and Ford of Europe: “There is a great buzz surrounding the launch of the XKR and this GT3 program is going to reinforce the sporting credentials of the XK range even further. The XKR is undoubtedly a great looking car and we’re very pleased that Apex shares our view that its lightweight body structure is an ideal platform for the series. We’re really looking forward to seeing the car run for the first time.” Gallery after the jump…

Why does it not surprise me to see this coming from someone calling themselves A4. I think I’d be more excited about this Jaguar than the Audi. The XKR would compete against more competitive cars and would add excitement. Everyone already knows the R10 will win.

A4, only time will tell.
Remember, Porsche’s back in the game…and there will be no substitute. :)

I’m looking forward to seeing this car race.

I wonder if they’ll enter it into ALMS or the Speed racing series?

Hope so, I’ll be at Sebring for the event. And I’m waiting for Acura’s factory team in the LMP2. Lotta good stuff happening.

cause i followed the races the car won (pretty much all of them)?

its not a biased statement to say its the best race car when its proven it IS THE BEST

and on top of it, they did it all with diesel power, which everyone but audi fans dismissing it as a joke. they proved all of them wrong, and now everyone is butthurt about it trying to make up bogus regulations just because its SO legally good.

and the fact that you even know what the R10 is proves that their intention for the car worked. of all the people that can name the R10, i guarantee at least 75% of them couldnt name a single other car by its race name.
