Fiat confirms Alfa 8C will be low production

The Alfa Romeo 8C will be extremely low volume. That's the message from Fiat, which this week confirmed only 500 units will be produced. The announcement confirms previous reports about the car's limited production status.

The 8C will feature a 4.7-liter Maserati V8 engine, producing 450 horsepower at 7,000 rpm, with 347 pound-feet of torque at 4,750 rpm. The car will ride on 20" wheels and feature a limited-slip differential. The transmission is a six-speed dual-clutch.

A production version of the car was shown at the Paris Motor Show just one month ago. The 8C is expected to arrive as a 2008 model. Gallery after the jump...
