I’ve only got two complaints about my drive in the 335i, i’d noticed it has a bad dendancy to smoke the inside tires when you try and take off right after a corner… didn’t get a lot of time to play around, but needed some kind of limited slip in the rear. Other than that, awesome car. Fast sports car, yet safe and pretty well suited for my family.

I have a friend who works for BMW of San Diego and has a 2006 325i witch is the last of the E46 design. I’m going to tell him to park it with its 10,500 miles on it for a few years until we see if this E92 design works out for BMW if not, Ebay anyone? After all the E46 is the pinnacle of design,and a cash cow for BMW and has been for the past few years. It would have been interesting to see if they would have kept the E46 design for at least another year or two with the new interior design and the new twin turbo engine and everyone could be anble to own what is basically a base M3 for for about $40,000. Hope it works out BMW, not just for you but for the possible millions of loyal E46 lovers that would have sold their models of two years ago and made the the upgrade probrably without question. Instead they are relying on a bold design move on what already is turning into a heated E design debate!!!

The tail lights for the 335 are better than the slanty tops of the previous 330. I couldn’t look at BMW over the last few years because of the lousy back end. The new sides looked toned down also – less amphibious. Front has always been great. I just put my money down on a September production and the car arrives mid-October. $43k with sport and premium.

Im going to order one because I think this car is sick and makes much more a statement than previous models, and the engine is a lot different because my sister has a the 06 four door and its great. For all of you who need to know here is the pricing for the 07 coupes (from a BMW dealership who emailed them to me):

328i: $35,300 M.S.R.P.

335i: $40,600 M.S.R.P

*note- these prices dont mean anything because you won’t be able to get a good one out of the door for $40k, good luck…

As much as i hate to say this i have to admit that i like the current 3 series sedan a lot more than this new coupe. also like the older generation 3 series coupe a lot lot more than this one. if the M3 looks like this coupe does i dont know who is going to buy one. I used to think BMW designed pretty good looking cars but they look uglier the newer they get. This coupe really just looks like any other car you see in the street. VERY VERY SAD. BMW has disappointed me for the first time.

We saw two of the new BMW 328i coupes in trail on the 405 in SoCal today, one in slate and one silver. They stand out on the road as classic low slung sports cars, no mistaking them for a Civic, Infinity, Scion, Buick, MB, Acura etc. Wait till you see one on the road or the race track before you think this is just another BMW slab sided sedan….

That car is like a boat. It doesn’t look sporty or agile at all, so I think this design fails BMW’s image. It’s a shame that car makers feel like they have to make them bigger just so consumers have a visible but vain sense that the car is also better. This car is so big that if you told me this is the new 6 series I’d believe it.

I’m a bit underwhelmed with the specs…

One of my friends has ‘91 Nissan 300ZX TT. Its 3-liter twin-turbo V6 makes 300hp and 293 lb/ft. Seems like BMW would be able to do little better 15 years later.

I think that anyone whos owned or driven an e36 or previous, can say that BMW has come a long way in design and function. I own an ‘01 330ci prem/sport package, and its a great car. It has it’s share of problems, its not the fastest thing, or the hottest thing anymore…but its still a BMW. I dont exactly love the look of the new e90 series BMWs, but I do think that BMW has “set the bar” for other manufacturers. With the new 3 series winning world car of the year 2006…its hard to argue that for the price, the e90 functions well and looks decent. It bothers me to hear BMWs referred to as inferior to Lexus or Mercedes…

Plus…BMWs are meant to be driven…its not about a fashion statement. It never was! Its the Ultimate Driving Machine.

BMW’s look good and perform well. But considering their lack of reliability, they are not a great value. But then neither are any of the models from Mercedes, Lexus, Infiniti, etc. In summary, all of the popular luxury and near-luxury makes/models are quite disappointing relative to the initial purchase price, along with maintenance and repair costs. In the end, the car game is more about marketing hype than about producing a truly great product.

You should wait for the diesel versions.
Maybe BMW will rolout a 335d with 272HP and more than 500NM of torque and still having a nice 35/40mpg. Once you try these diesels gas cars feels underpowered.

I currently drive a 330i Performance package, I personally like it whole lot better than the current one, much more sportier and looks like a BMW… the new 335i looks a bit boring, not too convinced with it…I think they could have done a better job on it…I am excited to see the new look of the 2008 M3, anyone who’s got any infos on it please let me know…
