2007 Lamborghini Murcielago LP640

02/22/2006, 8:06 AM

By admin

Lamborghini has unveiled the 2007 Murcielago LP640, a refreshed version of its range-topping supercar. The new Murcielago is powered by a 6.5-litre V12, longitudinally mounted behind the driver (LP in LP640 means “longitudinale posteriore”). The engine’s increased displacement means output jumps to 631 hp at 8,000 rpm. 0-62 mph is accomplished in just 3.4 seconds — that’s nearly half a second faster than the regular model. A new six-speed gearbox with an optional sequential paddle shift undoubtedly helps achieve those numbers. The carbon fiber exterior has been enhanced with sharper lines, new 18-inch rims enhance the overall appearance, and new outrageous 13.5 inch-wide tires deliver all that power to the ground. The interior has also been revised for increased comfort. The vehicle is expected to be sold a premium model above the standard Murcielago. See all the images after the jump…

Awesome looks, but the rims and sidemirrors are not really my taste.

The upholstery looks like the lining of a Carhart jacket. Nice.

The new rims are sick, they make it look like its already raceing, before you even turn the key! the body mods make it even sexier then the earlier modle. I would take that car over any girl…well to an extent.

I’m buying one, but I’m upping the power to 800BHP. It is only fitting to go out that way. I’m also restyling the bod a bit to match the need speed I will get with it. Catch me!!

I like the extra horses, but the 02-06 looks more defined. What’s going on with the square exhaust in the bumper, kind of a Japanese, Nissan look? I like the double cirle tips better. Mirror’s nicer?… can’t tell from the dark pictures. And the checkerboard interior, tacky. Anybody know the final price? Dealers are telling me it starts at 310, is that true or is it going to end up at 350 base?

AWWWESOME looking/performing/sexing/etc. car!!! Love it already and I can’t even afford to drive it yet! but you’d think you’d ATLEAST get electronically adjusting seats for a car that is almost 400k worth! Still… way to go Lamborghini! Im waiting for the new Gallardo… that one will wipe this one off very swiftly…

Lambo does a great job of keeping with their history of styling. You just can’t look at one of their rides and mistake it for anything else. Porsche, Ferrari, Lambo, Yugo…all the greats give you sense of marque nostalgia in their designs. That quilted leather interior is Comcastic suckas!

I love the Lp640 (well all Murcs). ARe there any hi-res (as in 1600×1200 or above) versions of these pictures? They’re too small to really appreciate.
