2007 Porsche Cayenne S Titanium Edition

06/14/2006, 11:40 AM

By admin

Porsche today announced a new model for the Cayenne lineup designed specifically for the U.S. and Canadian markets. The V-8 powered Cayenne S Titanium Edition will be available beginning in mid-July. The car features titanium-colored trim, exclusive exterior and interior finishes, and the Cayenne’s most popular options as standard equipment. The Cayenne S Titanium Edition will provide this additional content at a price point approximately 10 percent lower than a comparably equipped Cayenne S. Gallery and more info after the jump…

The Cayenne S Titanium Edition is available in four distinct exterior colors, including two which are exclusive to the new model: “Pure Red” is a vibrant and overtly sporting shade, and “Iceland Silver Metallic” is a classic light silver tinged with cool blue. The Cayenne S Titanium Edition will also be available in “Black” and “Marine Blue Metallic.” Along with the door handle inlays, each Cayenne S Titanium Edition features body-colored rocker-panel extensions, helping frame the standard 19-inch wheels coated in a Titanium Metallic finish. Also standard are four-pipe-look chrome exhaust tips, and 20-inch SportTechno wheels with a titanium-color finish are optional.

The interior receives equal attention, as the cabin of each Cayenne S Titanium Edition features an exclusive two-tone design. The two color combinations are “Black/Sand Beige” and “Black/Steel Grey,” with the dark finish covering the center sections of the seats and headrests, the floormats, the upper dashboard and door trim panels, the steering wheel rim and steering column, the front of the center console and the luggage compartment cover. In keeping with the model’s metallic theme, the instrument cluster dials have a metal-look finish, and the stainless-steel door-entry guards are embossed with the “Cayenne S titanium” logo.

Standard equipment includes Bi-Xenon headlights with dynamically controlled cornering lights, Porsche Communication Management (PCM) with DVD/GPS based navigation, and an electric tilting/sliding glass moonroof.

Like the Cayenne S, the Cayenne S Titanium Edition is propelled by a 340-horsepower, 4.5-liter V-8. Mated to the standard six-speed Tiptronic S automatic transmission, the Cayenne S Titanium Edition can sprint from a standstill to 60 mph (96 km/h) in only 6.8 seconds. The Cayenne S Titanium Edition can reach 99 mph (160 km/h) in just 16.8 seconds, and has a top track
speed of 150 mph (242 km/h).

The Porsche Cayenne Titanium Edition goes on sale in the U.S. and Canada in mid-July. Pricing for the new model in the U.S. is $64,900 (USD) and $89,800 (CAD) in Canada.

Well done Porsche, as gas prices hit an all time high, they unveil another V8!

Hint: Go and test drive a V10 TDi Touareg, better looking and better economy with insane power.

Porsche is desperate to move this model. I’ll wait for the Plutonium Edition.

you can coat it in titanium, you can put 31″ rims on it, but you can’t deny the fact that this is one of the ugliest cars ever made!!! just buy a range rover and forget this car.

Who asked for a Porsche SUV? Did I miss the memo? They should stick to sportcars and not try to expand their market share into something else.

I don’t see why they thought expanding their market share was necessary, or why they thought it was a good idea. At least they still make the 911.

This big truck cost’s about the same as a lil’ boxster & it has a porsche badge that’s why they buy it.

if they can make money because of this SUV and use it towards more R&D, then I’m happy for it. Better features and technology for their real cars….

In fact, there will be no Cayenne for 2007. Instead, Porsche is fitting 2006 models with options like the Titanium Edition in preparation of their new model coming in 2008. So no major upgrades for the year 2007 over 2006.

You guys just don’t get it. The Cayenne is more interesting than most of Porsche’s sportscars. When I go to the Porsche showroom, I’m only interested in checking out the Cayenne. This car masters multiple skills. It’s got a sportscar engine plus an incredible four wheel drive system. The styling is not for the mainstream Lexus/Infinity crowd; it’s more for the muscle car crowd. Cayenne also happens to be practical for the daily commute. It’s silly to spend $100 grand on a 911 Carrera, and yet only be able to take it for an intentional spin on the weekend, if the weather is nice.
Price is not the reason for Cayenne’s popularity. It is true that some Cayenne models are priced in the Boxter range, but there are other ones priced above a 911, and people buy them too. The Cayenne Turbo S has more power than any of the Porsche sportscars other than the GT.

As a multiple Porsche owner and advanced driving instructor I can tell you that the Cayenne is NOT a sports car or track weapon. It is however, the very best handling SUV that I’ve driven and it does have the Porsche DNA. I’ve owned a Touareg and it is the Buick version of the Cayenne albiet wondefully finished. And as far as looks go, beauty is in the eye of the beholder (I like the Porsche look but also the RR sport and Tourag).

So, don’t knock until you’ve driven the thing on a day when the Porsche that I’m sure you all have in the garage is not fed and watered.

All of you guys that are talking about why they produced the cayenne and how it so ugly. You either cant afford 1 or are fixated that porsche should only make sportscars! Look, you can’t go anywhere without seeing one! There great looking, great on the road, and when you want to pick your kids up at school you can proudly say, “I’m taking the Porsche!”

I just bought the titanium edition cayenne s and I love it. I replaced an X5 and the difference in power and handling is incredible. This is a fun car to drive – maybe not a 911 turbo, but I can’t get a $31,000 tax deduction on a 2 passenger sports car. It’s a Porsche and I’m proud to drive it.

PS: I drove the V8 Toureg and the “animal” above probably has a love of the VW bug and he just let go.

Hey, this car brought a lot of profit to Porsche, no matter what they say, plus excepting the design which is something debatable, Cayenne performs better than X5, ML or Range Rover Sport.
