Volkswagen subsidiary Seat today officially revealed the 2007 Seat Leon Cupra. The car is offered with a 240 horsepower version of the Leon’s 2.0-litre T FSI powerplant. From a standing start, this hottest Seat will accelerate to 62 mph in only 6.4 seconds, before going on to a maximum speed of 153 mph. Distinguishing the Cupra from other Leon models are a number of design touches, including new front bumpers, 18 inch alloy wheels, black door mirrors and a polished steel oval tailpipe. Inside, the atmosphere is distinctly sporty, with bucket-style sports seats, exclusive Cupra steering wheel, gearknob and pedals, and black trim. Gallery after the jump…

I know it would logisitcally be impossible, but I’d love to see Seats in the United States. I love small cars.

Nice car! I like the way Seat truely looks different from other VAG products. Even though it is based on the Golf you can’t tell in Seat models. Unfortulantely we here in America will never get to sample the Spanish style that Seat encompasses….

on a related note…when are we going to get a 240hp GTI? i heard the anniversary edition will have more HP. VW did this with the 1.8T. it originally came with 150hp then after a few years was bumped up to 180hp. would be interesting since the R32 would have a similar 260 though that is a whole other monster

Styling is light years away from the boring Golf and cheaper too.

i dont like the front end… but overall i’d much prefer a Seat to a VW “equivalent”… I use “equivalent” loosely as the VW counter-parts are underspecced compared to the Seats they are put side by side to
