The Golf V barely hit the US, but don't forget there are other markets! In Europe, the the current Golf has been for sale for some time now, but Volkswagen has not managed to sell as many as expected.

The Golf IV (previous generation) was the king of it's segmente. However, the current generation has fallen behind rivals, such as the Opel (Vauxhall in the UK) Astra and Renault Mégane.

The computer rendered image of the 2007 Golf looks very much like the facelifted Volkswagen Polo. The headlights are the most noticeable change, and the new grille gives the Golf the new family look from the Passat and the Phaeton.

what is so weird about this is that the Golf just barely hit the US market, and here we are seeing evidence of a refresh. Astonishing. No wonder VW is sinking so fast - by the time their products hit our shores, they're almost outdated.
