I just read an artcle in Autoweek called “The ZR1 Bubble” and basically this guy was saying how the cars like the ZR1 that sticker for 100k are going for like 300k and etc and etc, just like the GT-R was being marked up to 130k from it’s 70k base. He was talking about the previous ZR1 and how he bought one a few years back. it was a mint 95 or 96 ZR1 with 5k miles on it for 28k. In the article he said the car listed for 60k and the original owner had paid 90k for it. Since he had it he put 2k miles on it and when he auctioned it off at Barret Jackson last year it sold for $27,500. So he basically lost $500 on it with putting 2k miles on it. But you can see how a car that listed for 60k was marked up to 90k and over a decade later went for $27,500, just like this will be happening to the first Challengers, GT-R’s ZR1’s and the SRT4’s and PT cruisers and any other car that people rushed to buy.

I’m with HRR and everyone else, I’d wait another year or two and buy a Challenger R/T (also in white, sorry HRR), with the 370hp 404ft lbs of torque, that I’m sure will probably sticker for 27-28k and still be a good performer (or preferably just get a Camaro Z28 with 400hp) But you get the idea.

Either way…. I think that has to have been the most ridiculous overreaction to a “yo momma” joke I’ve ever seen!

And for what it’s worth… I love these internet cowards who say things like, “Oh… I wish you lived here… PLEASE say you live here, so I can kick the ever-loving **** out of you!”

Needless to say… it might be time for you to take your ball and go home.

Need4SSpeed: your problem is you’re thinking rationally. Those with more money than brains don’t care about that. 50k large to some is like $5 to the rest of us.

Good for Dodge though. Despite the fact this car should have been a ‘Cuda, it’s creating a very positive buzz even amongst those those who don’t generally pay much attention to things automotive. And the best part is it’s creating the same buzz amongst those who do.
