oh yes wadeB they are listening... to the sound of CHICHING!!!! I see nothing more than a minimally revamped and updated version of the last superduty except this probably has a higher profit margin... Gotta hand it to those crazy guys at ford who just havent heard that oil is getting more expensive. Is it any wonder that our once beloved american manufacturers are losing market share?

What is so exciting about this? Does it get better fuel economy? Is it B100 certified so it can run renewable fuels? I looks like the same truck as before... Where is the imagination and creativity at Ford? Where are the diesel options for the F150 and Ranger? How about a 6 and 4 cylinder turbo diesel option in the regular consumer trucks? How about a diesel Ranger that gets 50 mpg and with the towing ability of a large 6 or small 8? Why aren't all diesels coming out of the factory today all B100 certified? We know that renewable biofuels are the direction that we are moving toward to reduce our dependence on foreign oil and subsidizing terrorists.

I own a Ford Expedition that I bought back when gas was $1.50 a gallon and now I am paying dearly for it. So it sits mostly in the driveway as I bought a nice little TDI VW for my day to day work driving and I get 50 mpg burning biodiesel. Ford has no excuses for not introducing a completely new powerplant lineup that can produce good fuel economy. No excuses for not having a diesel Ranger capable of 40-50 mpg, and an F150 that gets 30+ mpg. Come on Ford! You want to know why your in trouble????? Look around!

The current look of all the trucks on the road are boring and the new Ford is no exception. I would love to see a retro of the old F1 truck styling brought back in a new modern truck. My truck has been a good truck so I really don't have any reason to complain about the quality or features of the truck, but when I go to replace the truck it is going to get great fuel economy, be flex fuel(preferably biodiesel), and possibly hybrid... Is anyone at Ford listening????

Hey, do not worry about me sending it to you, here is a link to view it all;

as far as the front structure goes, Chevy is even behind Toyota and Nissan. Very laughable. This may be hard to watch for some of you non Ford owners :)

and Miles, I was not talking about the actual fenders, as I re-read your post LOL. I am assuming Chevy fenders have to be thicker, as that is the main sub structure in the front. Listen again...substucture, not fenders. You need this DVD....let me send it to you.....please....and you will see Chevy's are overbuilt cars!!

But the truth is that Ford pickups are still at the top sellling trucks out there and I think the market still says something that contradicts the Ford pickup detractors especially the die hard GM ones.

Every person that I have ever known has had some sort of serious mechanical issue with Chevy and GMC trucks. I have yet to meet anyone with one that hasn't been a dealer service visit away from lemonade. Engines are decent, but the rest of the things are total cheap, slapped together garbage.

after working for the Largest Ford dealership in the NW for 3 years I am well aware of the ins and outs of the Ford product line from the super duty trucks down to the focus. I can tell you absolutely for certain that they are not better than everything out there. as a matter of fact, they are far from it.

If you want, post your address here, and I will send you a 'Truth About Trucks' DVD. You will never look at GM and import trucks in quite the same way again. You will start thinking what is underneath all of those pretty colored body panels.

have you ever taken the front fenders off of a Chevy truck RC Collins? There is no structure to the truck. Take the front fenders off of the Ford and see what you have... a real truck. GM's are overbuilt cars, while the Ford products are overbuilt trucks....a big difference under the skin!!

^^ DO YOU HAVE A CLUE WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT?? What is good about ford trucks currently?? The 5.4 v8 is gutless, The v-10 is a pig, and the current 6 liter diesel is the most peoblematic engine ford has ever created. not to mention they ride like shit, and i'm not sure if you can even get a power reclining passenger seat yet.

2008?? Introduced in September 2006??? I guess that's called WAY FORWARD marketing, huh? I can't knock the truck, in all fairness. My last experience with a Ford truck was a rented F150 from U-Haul. Hell, it did the job for me. The HD lineup from GM and DCX looks pretty robust.

Um since the GMC came out first I think its Ford who is copying then, the GMC has been in the pipeline for 6 years by now at least.

Jay: Ford rushed the last deisel to market (6.0) and it has developed an abysmal service record. Ford has already delayed this model due to concerns over engine reliability. Ford had better bring its A-game on this one, because with the Ram getting the 6.7l monster and a 6 speed auto and new HD entries from the general, the HD wars have been leaving ford behind lately.

Competition makes the whole breed stronger, but I have doubts that this will trump the competition. The only place Ford has beat the others in recent years in the HD market is extras, such as factory trailer brakes, etc...

YEAH go ford! Looking at these pictures it looks even more like those cheap looking Chevys and GMC trucks were just total copies. The headlights look the same, lots of stuff only this is the original!
Ok enough fantasizing about Ford because as we all know just a superduty, no matter how good it is will NOT be enough to save Ford, even if Chevy and GMC trucks seem to take a few design cues. Anyways this is a really cool truck, and the diesel sounds really great. Diesels all the way!
