$40-50k. That is the EXACT reason they stopped making the last Supra. Its also the reason the RX7 and 300Z failed as well as the previous MR2. They cost too much. Make the base model the same entry level price as the 350Z / RX8 and you've got me. Otherwise, keep it in Japan.

True true Toyota is in a good position. But I dunno man. They should try to tackle one thing at a time. I wish they bring back the MR2s. I think they should invest more money into technologies now. And try to make a profit out there current great achievement, hybrid technology. I heard they make huge sum of money selling it to Ford even though it was hush hush not telling how much money we paid.

Maybe a hybrid MR2. Hehe.

very nice story gsh, although i don't expect audi to be in any more lucrative position then the other German car manufacturers. German engenering is legendary but mercedes, bmw, audi and vw are all more or less limitided to their nature...

Toyota on the other hand has complete industrial freedom...

who can blame them. theyre not retarded like VW is for building the phaeton and veyron. both those are absolutely worth every penny (in the veyrons case VW is actually paying you to drive it, 5million to build, you take home for 1 million). what about ford? their GT's are sitting at the dealerships. M5? i was at the stevens creek dealership and bmw had no less than 4 sitting in the showroom.

if anything toyota will build a m3, s4, rs4, clk55, corvette competitor. theres more money in the 50k-70k segment than 70k+. how many gran sports do you see on the road? maybe in all of LA there are 2, and the gran sport is basically a poor mans ferrari. toyota has the best position anyone could ask for to bring out a blockbuster. they can produce huge amounts of engines for very little cost. they can even dedicate an entire factory to produce sports cars (the lexus IS is outselling their production rate, so now 4 times the number will be made by dedicating more of the factory to it). bmw, GM, and benz cant compete on price. Audi might be able to, who knows.

I doubt Toyota will be making a new Supra, doesn't jibe with what appears to be their new image of a company that makes everyday people movers. Now a Supra with a new name in the Lexus lineup, maybe, which is probably what the LF-A is.

If your base model is 10k more than your competitions base model, how is that the same segment? Confusion runs rampant.
