2008/2009 Audi TT RS planned?

05/06/2006, 7:14 PM

By admin

Audi is planning a high-performance version of the 2007 Audi TT Coupe, tentatively called the TT RS, reports Germany’s Auto Zeitung magazine. The car will get a naturally aspirated V6 with over 300 horsepower, according to the report. The engine will likely have increased displacement of 3.6 liters, up from the current 3.2 liter range-topper. The RS model would get larger wheels, performance brakes, RS4-style racing seats, widened fender flares, and a new front fascia with honeycomb mesh intakes. The car would either be a 2008 or 2009 model.

You are all stupid, the Name “TT” has nothing to do with turbos, let alone twin turbos, and the V8 from the RS4 would never fit!!! that is just asinine to suggest such a thing. if we are lucky it will have one turbo.

Y’know, with the TT being as light as it is, it really would be fine with a 300HP V6 – right up there with the benchmark 350Z. And with a slick-shifting six-speed manual gearbox, combined with that trick 40:60 Quattro AWD system, it does have the potential to become a good car.

But the thing is, I want this to be more than just ‘good’. 350HP 3.6L V6, 1300kg, six-speed, Quattro, two seats, agressive styling. BAM! You’ve got yourself a winner. That would be a great car – one that can take it up to the Z4 M Coupe, Porsche Cayman S and the SLK55 AMG. And potentially beat them.

A wagon/ShootingBrake RS would be a beautiful thing. I’d better start saving up!

How on earth can TT stand for twin-turbo when NO TT has EVER had twin-turbos?

And you own a TT? BWHAHAHAHA!

TT doesn’t stand for Twin Turbo. There’s never been a twin turbo TT production model (the bi-motor MTM is another story). There’s even a TT without any turbo: The 3.2.

TT stand for Tourist Trophy.

Among many sources: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audi_TT

I own a TT. Do you reaaaaally own one?

Give your head a shake son, you don’t make a comment like that to gear heads, they’ll tear you up. Chirp-chirp-chirp!

Sounds like you might own a VW RSI Beetle moreover than a TT.

300HP IS GOOD IN A LIGHTWEIGHT CAR LIKE THAT–PROBABLY TAKE OUT THE Z (QUATTRO WITH ALL THE TORQUE–OMG)–PLUS YOU GIVE IT A LITTLE CHIP BOOSTING AND IT WILL KILL ANYTHING ON THE ROAD.

im gonna have to agree with sh.yoon, a 350hp+ TT would defeat the Z4M coupe and the SLK 55 amg.

TT actually stands for Tourist Trophy. Just like Oliver said. I wonder if the TT has a bigger engine bay than the new MK5 R32. VW has reported problems fitting the 3.6l into the car for the US. I’m kinda bummed, I kinda wanted the 4door model with a 3.6l and DSG…

O well, just gonna keep my current R32 then.

hey b unit. When people say its gonna have over 300 hp, that means just a little like 320 or 330 not 350 or more.
