2010 Camaro SS #3 sold on eBay for $73,000

10/30/2008, 9:16 AM

By Andrew Ganz

Regular production on the assembly line hasn’t even begun for the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro, but the third Camaro SS to roll off the line has already been sold for $73,000 on eBay. General Motors will donate 100 percent of the sale of the Camaro to the College for Creative Studies in Detroit as part of the charity auction.

With a base MSRP of $30,995, the selling price represents a hefty premium for number three, though it is a tax write-off for the new buyer. The winner, who hasn’t been named, will be able to pick the Camaro’s color and factory auctions before he or she takes delivery at Suburban Chevrolet in Ann Arbor, Michigan, about an hour outside of Detroit.

You can view the now-ended auction here.

you can’t possibly tell me that there isn’t some millionaire car lover who wouldn’t buy this car for $100,000. why sell this car on eBay? that doesn’t make sense to me. selling this car at a live auction could’ve raised significantly more than $73k.

lol where else would they go? One goes in Rick Wagoner’s garage, and the other in Bob Lutz’s… Hahahaha

Actually… My guess is that Camaro with VIN #1 will probably go in GM’s private collection of cars, or maybe sit in the REN CEN for all eternity…

And yes….
It is this that most Chevy dealers will use to justify there mark-ups……
I’ll just give it a year, then I’ll get one close to invoice….

yarddog82abn, you are correct sir. The street prices of the last gen Camaro dropped like a rock after not too long.
