the prius went with its dick all shriveled up! oh wait, it’s a pussy! The 2010 golf already won! the 2009 jetta tdi already got the green car of the year, the CC got the interior of the year award, they got the engine of the year award! Did I miss something?

How does the Seat Exeo qualify? It’s just a facelifted previous-generation Audi A4! I’m thinking Astra, iQ, Ka, E-class or Mazda3 are the most likely winners.

as a European i don’t think the 370z has a chance. VW won the engine of the year , the Polo is a strong candidate. Ford Ka is good too. and based on the reviews, the journalists really like the Panamera.

370Z is a nice car, but it will not get the European Car of the Year. A Smart ForTwo probably has a better chance than the 370Z. I’m betting there are certain qualities that will define the “Car of the Year” for these guys, and those qualities will be economy, safety, practicality, affordability, user-friendliness, desirability among the masses, and European make. Drivability will not be high on the list, but it may be noted.

I’m guessing either something nice but not outstanding, like the Seat Exeo, or something really economical with nifty gadgets, like the Toyota iQ, will win the prize.

Now if Ford made a Ka that was fuel efficient it tops these guys hmmm maybe I’d still go with the KA.

Forget most of the Japanese. The 370z? Not a change. I’d place my bet on the Astra if it wasn’t an Opel which won last time. I would bet on Ka, iQ or Polo. Although i’d prefer Yeti. The other potential competitors in my opinion:
* Chevrolet Cruze
* Ford Ka
* Kia Soul
* Land Rover Discovery IV (LR4)
* Mazda Mazda3
* Mercedes-Benz E-Class
* Opel/Vauxhall Astra
* Peugeot 3008

Since this is Europe and not the states (very different preferences in cars). I am going with either the VW Polo or Mazda 3. Those 2 are VERY popular in Europe and both have a nice new offering for their 2010 models.
Just my thoughts. We will have to wait and see. Everyone should post their predictions, just for fun, to see who is right. No reason needed and no hate for the other contestants… GO!!!

I think even though the KA is nice. I think it should go to the Honda Insight or the New Toyota Prius. WHo ever has a better overall value not just fuel economy should win! Now if Ford made a Ka that was fuel efficient it tops these guys hmmm maybe I’d still go with the KA. But gotta be fair I think since both these cars are first true 2nd generation Hybrids then they should be in the Running.
And as for the Panamera garbage. It will only sit in an eliteest Garage hardly ever get used and won’t be sold to the masses hence its not significant and I don’t believe worthy of being called car of the year.
If its not suited for most people it don’t belong!

Since the Opel Insignia barely beat out the Ford Fiesta for the 2009 title, my suspicion is the Ford Ka FTW.

Europeans really have a special place in their hearts for pretty much anything Ford these days.

But the new Polo is pretty hot too.

Can’t count out the French maker Peugeot’s 3008.

As for the Nissan 370 last time a GT sports car won was the Porsche 928 back in 1978.
