It looks like a Volt with a large grill to me. The proportions make it seem like a small sedan to me, but they are probably off.

It could just be strategically placed and focused to get people to see it and talk about GM. It could also be green screened and photoshopped to purposely put it in. Think about it, free advertising. I highly doubt it was accidentally caught in the photo.

Remember this is a SKETCH, and the artwork is at an ANGLE.. so the proportions are going to look “off”. Hard to say whether it is a 2- or 4-door car, but wouldn’t a Malibu coupe or Monte Carlo be redundant with the Camaro available? I think it is a design study for the next Impala.. whether or not it is a RWD vehicle is hard to say at this point.. it’s just a SKETCH strategically placed in the photo to titillate hardcore fanboys like us!

One other thing to consider. Though GM may not be the smartest, it’s pretty hard to believe that if the drawing was one that was not meant to be released, that the room would not have been swept before the photo was taken.

Exactly roadmaster, the Impala is very important to GM and if they get it right, (like they did back in 96 with the SS) it will be to enthusiasts as well.

Concept illustrations are often out of proportion, but this does not look full-sized to me. Looks like a mid-sized coupe to me, but I doubt they’d use the Malibu name on it.

I think this is the 2009 impala, btw Madcapp, the impala sells 250,000 a year. It is very relevant. it has the size and room of an SUV with none of the drawbacks.
