And I agree – Hemi Road Runner – and all of you other VERY stupid people…..Every single time I park my Camaro – people are taking pictures….guys are calling their buddies…..it’s totally mindblowing.
So – PUT UP – or – SHUT UP…..If you haven’t got this car….you are nothing but a speck that I just blew past…..

And I’m LOVING IT.

I’ve had my AWESOME 2010 fully loaded Imperial Blue w/ Black racing stripes SS 2 pkge for nearly a month now……and it surpasses anything you can imagine. Sorry guys – I have FIRST HAND knowledge that my Camaro will leave ANY Challenger IN -THE-DUST!!! I still love my Corvette….but this car was just frigg’n built to race – love the tap-shift……MY SS KICKS ASS……

Need4SSpeed is quite accurate. Really the SS will get the LS3 engine from the Corvette, which will be around 430 HP. The Z28 will probably get the LS9 from the Corvette or the new Cadillac CTS-V engine. Something around 575 to 600 horses. What hemiroadrunner said about getting a Challenger, there won’t be much of a challenge.

Good that they might add another V6 since most sales will be V6 sales. I always liked the Z28 over the SS, since the Z28 was good in turns and such, they focused on the suspension, while the SS was god for straight line performance.

Sure do mr.meanpants. I also remember it being about 600lbs lighter than this Camaro. I’m assuming you’re implying the 260hp turbo four should be available in the Camaro, but unless you absolutely have to have the Camaro why wouldn’t you buy a Cobalt or Solstice Coupe instead? Either would blow the Camaro’s doors off because of curb weight.

A few sources have indicated that the 3.5L OHV engine will be offered. LLN asks why would both engines be offered and the answer is simple- cost. They are NOT going to sell you a 300hp DI V6 in a $23k Camaro when the same engine exists in a $36k CTS. The 3.5L should allow for a low base price and return better fuel economy than the DI V6. The Aura with the 3.5 and 4 speed got 18/29 with a weight of about 3500lbs. Camaro should be able to match that with a 5 or 6 speed auto.

Enclave does not come with detuned 220 HP V6 engine, perhaps that is the reason for good motivation. The torque characteristic of Enclave V6 and Caddy V6 are about the same, there is no indication what the torque of detuned V6 is. Torque of turbo 4 is high and it comes at relatively low RPM.

I had the 3.5L engine in an older Malibu and it regularly returned 32 MPG. I don’t think the DI engine will do the same. I know that sounds crazy but the older ohv engines are a lot lighter than the dohc di engines, and so the will be efficient. This is why corvettes achieve good gas mileage. The OHV engines are very light in weight. 220hp is not really underpowered either. It is a very smooth driving engine. Consider the base Mustang 4.0 is only 200hp.

For a car the size of the Sky or Cobalt, yes. But a 3700lb car like the Camaro, I think the V6 will prove to be much more livable. I had the 3.6 in my Enclave and it moved that beast down the road pretty well (when it was running ) I can only imagine what it would be like with the Cobalt motor.

If you’re going to go small in the Camaro, go diesel IMO.

I am tired of this car already. GM pisses me off, they don’t even have this car out but they have a billion different engine/trim/badging combo’s. That’s why I’m buying a Challenger R/T in November. Why would they be offering all this crap in a car that’s not even been out on the market yet to test and see if it sells.
