With the demise of Mercury Ford has announced a renewed commitment to the Lincoln brand, with the 2011 Lincoln MKX arguably being the brand’s first vehicle to come to market with that renewed vigor.

In addition to thorough, yet substantial changes both inside and out to the styling and materials, Lincoln has also upgraded the outgoing 3.5-liter, 265 horsepower, 17 city, 24 highway MPG engine for an all-new powerplant. This new 3.7-liter V6 is a variant of the engine found in the 2011 Mustang V6, and now boats an additional 40 horsepower and 30 lb-ft of torque for a best-in-class power rating of 305 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque.

To go along with class-leading power, the 2011 Lincoln MKX is also sporting best-in-class fuel economy for gas engines in both city and highway driving, with 19 city and 26 highway mpg, now verified by the EPA.
