The long-anticipated Chevrolet Camaro Convertible will make its production debut at next month’s North American International Auto Show in Detroit, a new report finds. The Chevrolet Camaro Convertible is expected to hit showrooms as a 2012 models.
According to Cars.com, the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible will make its first public appearance at January’s Detroit show. The Camaro Convertible has been a long time in the making, with several production delays to its name. The Camaro Convertible was originally slated to begin production this month, but GM’s financial woes pushed that production start date to February 2011.

Although no images of the Camaro Convertible have been released, the production version is rumored to closely mirror the concept version. Look for the Camaro Coupe’s roofline to be kept intact on the Convertible model, albeit with even less rearward visibility. Powertrains will carry over from the Camaro Coupe.

Despite its early 2010 introduction, the Camaro Convertible won’t roll into Chevy showrooms until spring 2011. Check back for photos of the production 2012 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible next month.
