Continuing a string of airbag-related issues for Honda and specifically the Accord nameplate, the automaker and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration have issued a new safety recall.
The latest recall covers the 2012 model year Accord sedan and Crosstour CUV. A total of 347 just units included in this latest recall, which follows a stop-sale the automaker issued after recalling nearly 1 million of its older models earlier this month.
The safety issue related to the handful of 2012s covered in this week’s recall involves the driver and passenger-side curtain airbag inflators, both of which may have been improperly manufactured.
As a result, Honda says that the airbags may not deploy in the event of a collision. Honda will replace the curtain airbags on the affected vehicles free of charge.
