Jaguar has confirmed its revised 2012 XF sedan will be available with the company’s all-new 2.2L four-cylinder turbo diesel. The British automaker made the announcement earlier today at the New York Auto Show.
Previewed earlier this year, the new four-cylinder diesel produces 187 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. Jaguar says the 2.2L-equipped XF can accelerate from 0-60 in 8.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 140 mph.
The 2.2L is mated to Jaguar’s all-new eight-speed transmission and also features an automatic start/stop system. The four-pot Jaguar is capable of achieving 52.3mpg on the European cycle, with Jaguar estimating a 45mpg rating for the U.S. cycle.
However, don’t look for any official EPA ratings any time soon – Jaguar says it has no plans to bring the diesel-powered XF to our shores.
