Compared with the last-gen model, the new ES range gains crisper styling highlighted by Lexus' "spindle" grille, a better-trimmed interior and over four inches of additional legroom. The ES 350 uses an essentially carryover 3.5-liter V6 with 268 horsepower and 248 lb-ft of torque that pairs with a six-speed automatic transmission. The ES 300h features a 2.5-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder teamed with an electric motor for a total system output of 200 horsepower.
The ES comes standard with environmentally-friendly NuLuxe seating surfaces, while genuine leather and coddling semi-analine leather are available as options. Also optional is a HDD Navigation System with voice recognition, an integrated backup camera, an eight-inch screen, and Lexus' Enform infotainment system. Enform provides access to Lexus Enform to Bing search, iHeartRadio, MovieTickets.com, OpenTable, Pandora, Yelp and Facebook Places through compatible smart phones.
The standard audio system is an eight-speaker AM/FM/CD setup with an iPod/aux input jack along with Sirius XM satellite radio. An available Display Audio package adds a seven-inch screen, HD Radio with iTunes tagging, Bluetooth audio, phone transfer, a vehicle information display and a rear backup camera.
The 2013 ES 350 and 2013 ES 300h will be available at dealerships in August.
