Nvidia suspends autonomous car tests following Uber deathby Justin King
The chip-maker has denied that Uber was using its Drive autonomous driving platform.
Nvidia has halted its autonomous vehicle test program in the wake of the fatal Uber accident.
"We are temporarily suspending the testing of our self-driving cars on public roads to learn from the Uber incident," the company said in a statement, as quoted by Reuters. "Our global fleet of manually driven data collection vehicles continue to operate."
Previous reports have suggested Uber was using Nvidia's Drive autonomous computing platform in its XC90 fleet. Nvidia has denied that Uber was employing Drive, however.
The computing program is designed to be flexible, allowing many automakers and other parties to run their own autonomous driving software.
