The sleek-looking electric hypercar will hit the market in 2020.

Automobili Pininfarina has released three new teaser images of its upcoming PF0 electric hypercar. Pininfarina plans to put the PF0 into production before the end of the decade.

The teaser images don't give away too many details, but it's clear that the PF0 will be a sleek sports intended to take on the Ferraris and Lamborghinis of the world. The teaser images show a car that is low and wide with pronounced wheel arches.

"Pininfarina has an unprecedented heritage of delivering cars that are both beautiful to look at and technically innovative. Creating this combination in the first Pininfarina-branded road car is a dream come true,” said Luca Borgogno, Automobili Design Director. "The design of PF0 will espouse purity, beauty and innovation. Working closely with Pininfarina SpA we have created three new images that give prospective owners an exciting preview of the design features we will introduce on this incredible hypercar.”

The PF0 will more than just look the part though, with blistering performance to back up its supercar styling. Pininfarina says the PF0 will accelerate from 0-60 in less than two-seconds and hit a top speed in excess of 250mph. Pininfarina is also promising an all-electric range of 300 miles.

Pininfarina also announced on Friday that it has hired on ex-Formula 1 racing driver Nick Heidfeld to help with the PF0's development program. The firm plans to begin shakedown testing of the PF0 next year, with an on sale date set for late 2020.
