So lets see, you can get an Maserati MC12 Corsa for $600k LESS than the FXX with performance close to the FXX, and the MC12 Corsa is more exclusive-only 12 produced. FXX what a joke.

Besides a slightly different look, how exactly is this different than the Enzo? It looks like a crappy ass modern day speed-racer car. I'll keep my non-existant 4 million, thanks.

You could buy a second hand F1 car and supplies to keep it going for that price... I'd say the F1 car would be more entertaining too as a track only car.
If we wanted to get practical a 2 mil plus house and a Bugatti Veyron would be another option though not really a track car because of its weight... but could be used to do the shopping ;)

the thing is, if you have that kind of money you obviously have the means necessary to buy anything you want. a $3.9m trackday car? if you really have that strong a passion for cars, why not? its not like you can show it off to the people next door as its likely to be kept in Modena!

Ferrari......... 4 Wheels/2 Seats and an engine.
The most exspensive gokarts in the world.
There was a day when buying a Ferrari meant having king of the hill performance.

That day is GOOOOOOOONE !
The only thing left is the "are you impressed that I can afford this" factor.

I may have some facts distorted, but if you have an FXX, it has to be raced. #5 is correct in that Ferrari plans to use the feedback that the drivers/owners provide to produce it's next super car. As for the price, there are plenty of cars that are faster than an FXX. I think you can probably buy a real F1 car for that much. What you don't get however is the full backing of a Ferrari trained team and racing experience/education from some pretty high profile people. I do think $4 million is too much, but if someone's willing to pay me that much for it, I'd be willing to take it from them.

Did anybody ever think that maybe the car isn't going to sell and just sit in the dealership? just like how I saw a prowler with an asking price of 120,000

People who buy this car aren't going to drive it. Imagine wrecking it on the track or a pebble hitting it while crusing around the neighborhood? They are going to buy it as an investment & store it in a climate controlled garage. Which, brings me back to my point.....how much more does one expect a 3.98M car to appreciate?

I have loved Ferrari for years, but buying $3.98m for a car that isn't even road legal is just stupid. I'd have either a Bugatti or a Koenigsegg CCX, both of which are about 4x cheaper.

This is a car for very very wealthy people. It is track only. This is the test bed for Enzo's successor, which looks fabulous in Road & Track this month.

Ferraris are the coolest cars on earth. They are bred from a racing heritage that no other car company today can match. Someday I hope to own one of their fabled V12 front engine machines.

Maybe in 2012, I may be able to own a 2007 599 Fiorano.

3.98M for a car?! Rare Ferrari's usually are a good investment but this is insane! How much $ do they think the car is going to appreciate? If Ferrari lets the dealship do that I think it will hurt their image. I love Ferrai but no thanks, I'd rather have a house

Well, if I had the money, I guess I wouldn't care, but...

I love what these car represent, but take that away, the car is hideous looking. I'd take it's prettier, but still ugly looking girl friend: Pagani Zonda F.

Since, the FXX isn't street legal, I think a smarter and more fun choice would be the Ariel Atom, or an Ultima Car. Plus these two cars come in kit option, so I can build them and not feel like a profligate consumer.

Well, not quite psycho. After all, there are only 30 of them. The price may make sense in the long run since most of the FXX cars are going to be raced so that might cull the herd.

These guys also have a straight Enzo up for $1.29M. Eriksson: are you listening?
Oh wait, my bad, he's in the clink.
