Exactly, very well put, there are houndreds of thousands of rap artists out there that are real music artists, however, popular culture have steared us away and onto a more main stream sound. Personally, i’m not a fan of the newer rap, however, 90 percent of my music collection is 80’s-90’s rap that is true rap. It’s fine people like the new stuff, it’s there opinion, but those that don’t like it, need to atleast realize, there is other rap out there that is ‘real’ music. Even if you don’t like it, lots of people do, and it’s music just as is every other genre, not just ‘noise pollution’

Ricardo Head, it should be an embarrasment for LLN to have somebody like you on there website, “tupac was great other then he got shot up….thankfully”, who the hell do you think you are to be glad that somebody got shot and killed. I don’t care if you dont’ like him or respect him and what he did, however houndreds of thousands of other people did. People looked up to him and his messages. He got killed because of violence, while he was trying to stop it and stop society from turning there backs on people. Again, it’s unbelivable to me that you would be glad somebody who did nothing but try to help give hope to people, and from coming from what he came from, turned his life into something great.

Violence and Guns in general, isn’t rap, the rap you think rap is, is listened to by mostly relitively black, poverity ridden communities. They have gangs, and this is y u have the connotation guns and violence goes with rap. Infact, most real rap, sorry, i’m sure your not aware of this, it isn’t usually shown through the media, is actually about peace, and hope for those who grew up in not so well backgrounds. However, that has changed with the new wave of rap, which ironically, sells, partly because of the violence and gang affilations it has.
