Mercedes-Benz ’s all-new E-Class sedan might not even have reached dealerships in its home country yet – it’ll be there soon – but the automaker says it has received nearly 50,000 pre-orders for its midsize sedan across the globe. The North American-specification E-Class goes on sale this summer in both coupe and sedan forms.
A wagon version is expected to debut soon, which should only add to the number of pre-orders given that variant’s popularity in Europe.

Mercedes sold about 1.5 million E-Class sedans and wagons during the previous generation’s production run, which lasted from the 2003 model year through early this year.
