It’s Friday and we can’t think of a much better way to killer a minute or two then to watch gasoline be transformed into 540 horsepower thanks to a force-fed 5.0-liter V8 engine under the hood of a Stage 3 Roush Mustang as it mercilessly destroys a set of tires.

So why the hate for the tires? Well, Roush says hate was actually directed towards the pavement since the pavement was getting a bit too cocky with so much focus on new cars going to fuel economy and low rolling-resistance tires. So what better way to put the pavement in its place than to melt its face off with a tire-shredding burnout?
