Is this the 2008 BMW 7-Series?

The folks at German car magazine Autobild seem to think they know what the 2008/2009 BMW 7-Series will look like. Pictured Right is the cover of the November 11 issue of the magazine, with a computer rendering of the future flagship sedan. Given the magazine’s strong track record for accurately predicting future cars based on insider info, we feel this report is worth a look. In 2001, an all-new 7-series introduced a new design language at BMW, but it wasn’t without its critics. The car has since been the target of much scrutiny, and in 2005, BMW was forced to tone back some of the car’s more controversial design elements, including its headlights and taillights. Also revised was the car’s ‘kidney grille’ and from air dam. This week’s Autobild rendering shows more muscular 7-series with softer lines and rounder surfaces. The headlight design appears cleaner, and the grille has been enlarged. As for the accuracy of this rendering, only time will tell for certain.

if this is indeed based on real info, it looks like bangle is trying to tone back some of his more weird design ideas…. i think the front lights look ok but the grill is akward for sure. 5-series has the best grille for that type of car methinks. 6-series is nice for a more flashy design thou…. hey can we see a rear shot of that pic?
