The Fiat Barchetta was FWD…

I think this would be pretty sweet. Although it won’t be making it to U.S. Shores I doubt, It’ll sell nicely in Europe.

At least with the Abarth name it should have some of the cachet that the Vauxhall/Opel VX220 didn’t have.
Considering the Barchetta was only LHD it sold remarkably well in Britain, hopefully the Abarth will maintain the performance price ratio. Trouble is , if it gets a hairdresser image it’ll die in flames.

Given the depth of FIAT engine resources this may be interesting relationship. I wonder if it destined to our shores, considering that FIAT is planning drop Alfa stateside. It is amazing how many car marques one successful platform can span.
