Fiat just took the wraps off of its 500 Abarth SS hot hatch at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, but the Italian automaker reportedly has even more in the works for the popular 500. If all indications are correct, Abarth is planning to launch a convertible version of the 500.
According to Autocar, Abarth is planning to launch a convertible version of the Fiat 500. It remains unclear if Abarth will also produce a high-performance SS version — like the model that was on display in Geneva — of the 500 convertible, but Autocar says the cabriolet should hit the market in the first part of 2009.
The same article also speculates that Abarth is working on two new models — a two-place convertible and an all-new coupe.
