Abt Sportsline pushes Audi R8 to 530 hp

04/11/2007, 1:22 PM

By admin

German tuner Abt Sportsline has put together the first tuning program for the Audi R8 sports car. The Abt R8 features a supercharger that brings output to an impressive 530 hp, up from a stock 420 hp.

The increased power means the sprint to 62 mph takes just 3.9 seconds. New Abt 20-inch BR wheels stylishly transfer this power onto the asphalt. Aerodynamics are improved by a rear wing, rear diffuser, and a new front fascia.

The bodykit also features carbon-fibre parts and a new stacked tailpipe arrangement.

They shoud install one of those built in fire extinguisher systems…like what race cars have. Now that’s an option worth having.

i dont know. I think that looks like ****. I’d just upgrade the engine. I would MUCH rather have the 530 hp

I like the original better. Still, it wouldn’t look soo bad if they got rid of those two toned rims and picked a different color scheme for the car. Gun metal maybe.

i don’t like the color or the rims, but i do like the wing and the hood. i like it. it’s creative. but they definitely need to keep it simple, and yes to performance. i agree gun metal would hot.

I agree somewhat but I think some of the things they did are an improvement of the stock styling, such as changing the cheap plastic grills under the headlights. And you gotta love the extra power…

————->serious real talk, the back looks retarted…..but the front: i seriously think that that’s how the front should have came out of the Audi factory in the first place, instead of those gaping vents under the headlights looking unfinished….

I think the R8 is a pretty interesting car, but I really can’t help shake the notion that it’s going to be bought by the same type of person who buys an Audi TT. I have never seen a cool person driving an Audi TT.

I dunno, let’s hope I’m wrong

Not so sure about the rims, but this is the best custom visual job I’ve seen in a while. Makes you see just how ****ty that Nismo 350Z is. I like how they made the front look much more finished.

Ha, before i clicked the article, I thought it was a PRODUCTION verison of the new DODGE CHALLENGER in the rear!!! lol

Anyways, thats a little too much in styling. Otherwise, sweet R8 – sans dumb off-color side blade! The smaller side scoops should be body colored.

Everyone is wrong and/or completley too stoned for society. Minus the colors and contrasts, this car design is a mountain of improvement over the stock R8. The headlights could be a tad larger. I like the stacked tailpipes. Go with a solid colored wheel and tone down the variation from orange to dark grey all over the body and you’ve got a winner.

Actually looks pretty good to me, and I’m not normally a fan of tuner cars. Can’t be cheap, though.

And it’s not like you *have* to buy the whole bodykit, wheels, etc. – you can just get the engine upgrades.

Buy one and then try to find ANYONE in this country who would know how to fix it.

It will break and it will be towed……it’s an Audi.

Simple, it’s a very striking and attention-getting color.

I was at NYIAS, and the Lincoln MKR was visible from across the show floor just because of that color.

A little bit too racy for my tastes. I’m sure they won’t have any trouble finding takers though.

Maybe I wouldn’t mind the color so much if the rims were better. It does look racy but blingy rims ruin it for me.
