I really like the wood, it is reminiscent of BMW. No, it won’t ever be like BMW, but I do like it. I think it may just be the lighting coupled with the lighter leather color the wood looks bad. They have finally made this thing worth the money, CMBS, lane departure, 19″ wheels, ventilated seats, and a 6spd tranny finally!

Though not a huge fan of the beak, it doesn’t look bad on the SUVs and is OK on the TSX (looks awful on the TL and RL). For what it is, I think the MDX is a decent looking CUV. I do like the interior layout and I do like the darker wood grain.

Reliable? Didn’t they just admit they had to tweak the engine for added reliability? If Honda couldn’t get their 5spd to work without the teeth falling off of it, are you gonna bet this new 6spd transmission is any better. A friend of mine has the 5spd manual in a 06 TL, and that car all ready has a jacked up 3rd gear too. Not too mention the 21mpg. R U Kidding. . . New Cadilac SRX is getting 25MPG, and looks way nicer, and runs on 87 octane.

I must admit that I was in the market for an SUV. I looked at the Acura MDX and overall, it was nice, but I couldn’t get past the grille and those huge pieces of plastic wood inside. I don’t think many would dispute Acura’s tie to Honda for reliability, though, so at least they have that going for them. I really think that this is a situation where management at Acura has “made the call” to stick with the grille as opposed to changing it, which would not be all that hard to do. They’re gutting it out!

I have to say, this does look quite pleasing (contrary to what most people have said above.)

Perhaps one of the reasons that the MDX received this grille, is to keep up with the corporate image (for better or for worse).

I feel that the grille attracts a plethora of attention and it strikes up much controversy. Without it, would most of you even know that Acura existed? And would you know that the previous generation of Acuras were beautiful??

A.J. I totally agree. Despite the spoon full of crap Acura has been offering everone, this car is actually a nice effort, except the lower air dams. But what the hell happened inside? It looks like a half assed effort to truly exude luxury. The seats look like they’re built for racing and the dinky blind spot indicator should be outside and the wood couldn’t be more obviously fake. It wont be so bad if they had just painted it piano black. All in all, it is barely passable for a decent luxury SUV.

ACURA is getting lost in LALA Land.

First of all, Its styling is getting worse and worse every time they release a new car.(but this might just be ME since “LOOKS” are highly subjective)

Another thing is that the Fuel Economy estimates are ridiculous for this CUV with 300 HP / 270 lbs of Torque.

I mean, Lincoln will be releasing their 2010 Lincoln MKT Ecoboost which has 355 HP/350 lbs of Torque yet It’s rated 17 City / 22 Highway with STANDARD All-Wheel Drive System and according to Car & Driver this engine runs on 87 Octane.

Come on, Acura DON’T LEAVE BEHIND.

This is a nice vehicle – beak or no beak. That being said, I don’t regret buying the Buick Enclave in any way, shape or form. In fact, I find the Enclave a more attractive vehicle.

Tow Mater! ROFL!! With those new overchromed sub-grilles in the bumper, it almost appears like the bumper is indeed falling off!

There are two reasons the new “signature” grille looks better here than elsewhere in the lineup: 1) It doesn’t extend upward beyond the headlights or on to the hood, which is why it looks SOOO bad on the TL and RL. 2) The weird “inside out” perforated grille the MDX used to have was even worse.

Honda has been experimenting liberally with every grille on everything they’ve released since the MDX.. with very little stylistic success. From the Civic’s Saturn-like chrome bar to the tri-level CR-V beak, the USB-port inspired Pilot and the Ridgeline’s faux tuff-guy monstrosity, every Acura two-tone fake metal shield, and most recently the mini-Ford-3-bar inside the Insight’s maw.. nothing has been remotely cohesive or attractive.

Like it or not, at least we know it’s an Acura! Too bad we don’t want to buy it.

The MDX already had a ridiculous front end so this change isnt really too drastic. Unfortunately, they forgot to add real wood trim or improve the highway mileage to a respectable figure. I supposed the changes to the auto damping are supposed to address the brick hard ride that many have complained about.

The use of plasti-wood is excessive in this car.
