I gotta admit, Acura's front is kinda ugly. but when you take out the front fenders and take see the rest of the car, it is a nice shape.

This is one of the first good-looking Acuras I have ever seen (the front end still sucks, though). Everything beforehand (minus the new TL) was just too bland. And thus, I won't be surprised if the production model turns out blander than the car in these images.

And yes, this Acura screams Audi Q7. Especially the rear end, which is pretty much a direct copy except more angular.

I'm not very fond of these looks. Of course this is a concept, and I'm hoping the styling is toned down a bit.
The current MDX is a bit too conservative in styling, the new one needs to strike a balance between conservative and overstyled. IMO it's the Lexus RX330 that strikes the best balance in the segment.

I've been thinking about a FJ Cruiser but maybe should wait to see what this looks like.. I don't get cars dirty or full of sand so rock climbing is not needed. The brand sure has a good rep.

As far as I know, the old MDX wasn't a truck-based box, and FX did not create this segment. FX introduced coupe-like roofline, but that's about it.

Finally everyone is catching on to what Infiniti gave the world several years ago. The Mazda CX-7, Ford Edge, new Highlander, and now this Acura all are copying what the FX did for design back when SUVs where supposed to be truck-based boxes. In fact, this MDX sketch could well have been the new FX, with its large C-pillar, small rear window, bulging look, high hood and large gently sloped grill.

Infiniti figured out years ago that most people do not want to take their SUVs off-road. They just want a fun car with AWD, good visability and a hatchback. The FX got some weird looks back then, but look at the others all now trying to play catch-up!
